My heart goes out to all the EGM and 1up Staff

This has nothing to do with MMOs, but it’s one of the saddest days ever for video games. UGO has bought, and in doing so trashed Electronic Gaming Monthly, along with the majority(?) of it’s PHENOMENAL journalists and employees.

Not only is this a horribly dark day for video games, but a dark day for printed press as well. One of the longest standing video game publications is now DEAD. I grew up with stacks of Electronic Gaming Monthly holding my hand through generation after generation of video game consoles.

The thing that most upsets me is that the journalists who inspired me to set game journalism as my goal and career in life, have to be put through this mess. My hear goes out to everyone at EGM and 1up.
